Hello all you drummers and to all my students.
Thanks to everyone who has commentated on my posts. I'm sorry I haven't been able to reply personally, but there are so many I just want you all to know I appreciate your support and I hope it will continue.
This year has started off really busy for me, playing with the Nick Val band doing videos, gigs and recordings. It really keeps you on your toes, and off course Silverfox Drumsticks sponsoring me has been a great help.
This post is about discovering new moves. I have a story to tell you about one of my students with a broken hand, he called to apologize that he could not make the lesson. I told him on the contrary, I would still like to see him for the lesson. When he turned up for class we started working on three limbs, we went through some incredible moves such as paradiddles between the one hand and hi hat and same with bass drum. It's surprising how many moves we discovered. This student is a top player from one of the local high schools and consequently when his hand healed he was flying around the set. So if any drummers are out there with an injured hand, be it left or right, try to discover new moves with the limbs you have available. The moves we discovered have become part of my class, why don't you try it?
Thanks once again for the support
Until the next time
